Wille Dodge GMCC Juniors shine at  Victoria Curling Club

The Wille Dodge Glen Meadows Juniors had a super weekend again at the annual Victoria Police Junior Cash Spiel held December 1st and 2nd.  2012.  Two GMCC teams competed with teams from Victoria, Esquimalt and Juan de Fuca clubs.  Each team played four games over the two-day event.  A requirement of two novice curlers on each team meant many athletes competed for their first time in an actual game or bonspiel.

The two Wille Dodge GMCC rinks placed 1st. and 3rd.  Congratulations on such a successful spiel!!

Overall winners were skip Ben England, thirds Ben Sammons and Bronson Wille, second Michael Song and leads Daniel Sammons and Arden Grew.

Third place winners were skip James Mackey, third and second shared by Jesse Wright & Jocelyn Mackey, lead Isaac Harris.

Assisting teams to fill their rosters, GMCC juniors Dawson Harris , Ollie Albert and Arden Grew played on other teams as well. Good sports!

It was truly a coming out for our novice curlers and they were awesome. The leadership and guidance provided to them by our more experienced players was a very rewarding time for all coaches and parents behind the glass.

Thanks goes out to the Victoria Police Athletic Association for their continuing sponsorship and to the Victoria Curling Club for hosting this exceptional weekend and to organizer Kristina Cook. This is the future of our game and our juniors made us all very proud.
